Q: Are there refuges or accommodation in the park?
A: Yes, there are and when booking a trip with us we take care of the reservation. The places we stay at are mentioned in the respective program of the tour.

Q: How do I make a reservation?
A: Contact us via e-mail or telephone, we will send you a form to fill out or simply visit us in Salento.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Please find our cancellation policy here

Q: Do I have to have backpacking experience?
A: You need some hiking experience.

Q: Do you ever cancel trips due to weather?
A:: Trips go rain, snow or shine. However, we reserve the right to change the trip itinerary due to weather or any other conditions beyond our control. In case of cancelling a trip we will refund the complete tour price.

Q: How much weight will I have to carry?
A: You just take your personal belongings and the equipment to bring based on your tour. As we spend our nights usually at farms or refuges and have the meals included you can limit the weight to a minimum.

Q: Do I need to bring my own water bottles?
A: Yes. Please bring one water bottle and we take care of the refill during the tour.

Q: What else do I need to bring on the trip?
A: Based on your tour, there is a list of things to bring. Please check here

Q: What kind footwear do I need?
A: Adequate shoes (trekking/hiking boots – no sandals or sneakers) Please check here

Q: Do you cater to dietary restrictions?
A: Yes. If you have any diet restrictions or preferences (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, etc.) please let us know well in advance and we will accommodate your needs as much as possible.

Q: What about feminine hygiene products?
A: Please bring feminine hygiene products in a plastic zip lock bag. Bring extra bags for disposal of used products. All of our guides are professional and have been guiding trips for years and know how important privacy is, so don’t hesitate to ask any questions, they will respect your needs. No need to let minor details get in the way of a great vacation.

Q: Do cell phones work?
A: Mostly not, but there is limited network connection during our tours.

Q: Can I be contacted in case of an emergency?
A: Please tell friends and family members to call our agency if there is an emergency. With your application we take a contact person in case we have to contact your relatives or friends.

Q: How big is the group?
A: Our average group size is 1-4 persons with 1 guide.

Q: Meeting time and place?
A: We give you the details when making a reservation for a tour.

Q: Is there a place to park my car and store my luggage while I’m on the trip?
A: Many of our guests leave their cars at their hotel while out on a trip. You can also park you car in front of the agency. We can store your luggage and valuables in our agency.

Q: Should we tip the guide?
A: It is never expected, but always appreciated. Our guides are the best in the business and will do everything they can to make sure you have the trip of a lifetime. Gratuities are a wonderful way for you to show your appreciation for the personalized care and attention you receive. A typical gratuity on a trip is 10-15% of the trip’s cost.

Q: Do you offer customized trips?
A: Yes, call or email us with your request. We offer custom itineraries as well as private tours. If you don’t see a trip on our schedule that interests you, please contact us to discuss the possibilities.

Q: Do you allow singles on your trips?
A: Yes. Singles are more than welcome on any of our trips.

Q: How do you rate these hikes?
A: We rate our hikes based on the French mountaineering scale. Find the details here

Q: Is there a minimum number of people required for a trip to run?
A: No, We do our hiking trips beginning with one participant. Prices vary based on the number of participants.

Q: What age range do you recommend?
A: As our hikes are rather demanding and going up to high altitude, the trips are not suitable for kids.

Q: What can I expect the weather to be like on my hike?
A: As we’re hiking in several climate zones, you can have all seasons in one day. During the day it might be warm, but at night, it’s definitely cold. As we’re passing the cloud forest, therefore we always need to be prepared for rain.

Q: Can I bring my own equipment?
A: Yes! If you have your own equipment you are more than welcome to use it. If you need additional equipment please find our rental service and the respective prices here

Q: Do I need to bring my own snacks?
A: No. We provide you with meals according to the booked tour and on snack pack for each day. Find details here. But if there are items that you can’t live without, please feel free to bring them. If you have a particular dietary restriction, you might consider bringing some of your own snacks.
